kosha - old skool
The brand new single from the rising star of Bethnal Green, Kosha is released today. The new track called Old Skool is, as the name suggests reminiscent of a bygone era of shell suits and ghetto blasters, with its Old Skool garage feel.
Starting out in his teens, he quickly became involved in the pirate radio scene, landing his first big spot on Flava FM 87.6, alongside other artists such as Kano, Dizzee Rascal, D Double E and Jammer.
Consistent graft propelled him onto nationwide tours up and down the UK with Garage/RnB Nation performing alongside big name DJs such as EZ and DJ Slimzee. It wasn’t until after a feature on Channel 4’s Kiss FM Pirate Soundclash competition that he realised that he wanted to record his own music, rather than host and sing on other artists tracks.
After recording It’s All Kosha Vol1, Kosha linked up with Wiley and Danny Weed to create his debut single I Need You. He has managed to sell over 40,000 CD’s, at shows and on the streets and it was on the streets of London that he met John Turner CEO of Seventy Recordings.
Kosha quickly became the thrid signing to the label and the rest is history, as they say. Old Skool is his debut release on Seventy Recordings, with an album being rumoured for release by the end of the year.
