3OH!3 London prizes & signings

To celebrate the arrival of 3OH!3 in the UK and coinciding with the release of their latest single My First Kiss (Ft. Ke$ha), the band have announced a Twitter hunt which will take place on Sunday July 11th.

Hints and clues will be Tweeted from the band’s account - http://twitter.com/3OH3, there will be physical locations to visit in London where prizes including gig tickets, t-shirts and deluxe album box sets will be up for grabs.  The overall winner will get to take three friends to the bands Kings College show on Tuesday 13 July and will also meet the band!

My First Kiss, out this week, is taken from the band’s highly anticipated new album, ‘Streets Of Gold’. The album is set for release on Monday 19th July 2010 through Photo Finish / Asylum Records and features the smash hit singles Starstrukk featuring Katy Perry and Don’t Trust Me as well as 13 brand new sure fire smashes.

And for 3OH!3 fans in London on July 12th, the band will be signing copies of their new single and also their exclusively designed t-shirts at the HMV store on Oxford Street from 6pm.

As an added treat 5 pairs of tickets for the band’s Kings College London SOLD OUT show on Tuesday 13th July 2010 are up for grabs. The 5 fans dressed in the best gold outfits at the signing will win a pair of tickets each.

Janelle Monae - ArchAndroid

Janelle Monae is the latest big thing, it seems everyone is talking about the singer/songwriter and she was most recently the subject of a feature in the Sunday Times Culture magazine where she also graced the front cover.

The latest Little Miss Dynamite releases her brand new debut album ArchAndroid next week, the much anticipated single Tightrope is released on Monday, July 12th.

This is the latest reworking of the single, Tightrope featuring B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco.

The catchy track Sugar Rush by Charlee Drew has been chosen by the artists fans to be his next single after he uploaded the song to his MySpace page, it will be released on July 19th through LAB Records.

Drew began working on his solo material back in 2008, penning songs with a real pop sensibility that combined elements of R&B and rock. He’s put in the legwork with intensive touring schedules, really devoting the time to building a ravenous online fanbase, which he regularly connects with as proven by allowing fans to choose the new single.

Drew’s song writing talents have far from gone unnoticed too.  He is currently co-writing new material with Paul Barry at Metrophonic Music, who has written with Enrique Iglesias (Hero), JLS and Cher (Believe).

Charlee Drew will also feature on a track on the new album from former Roll Deep DJ Skepta, which Skepta will also release as a single, before heading out on a full UK tour in July in support of ‘Sugar Rush.’ Testament to Drew’s expanding global appeal is the fact that he has sold over 100,000 downloads of his tracks as ring tones across the US.

While Drew himself may be a musician who can lend his talents to a range of genres, with Sugar Rush he’s created an out-and-out pop song that couldn’t be more true to its name. The candy coated track takes the listener through a tale of winning back the love of your girl over an undeserving rival. Drew puts it very nicely in his lyric ‘let me take you off his hands, come spend the night with me, if I can, I wanna be your man’.

Recharged Radio Award winner Jo Hamilton will release the latest single to be taken from the very much acclaimed debut album Gown on July 5th. The mew single Think Of Me has been rescheduled from its original planned release at the end of May.

Her previous single Pick Me Up was featured on Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 show amongst others as well as winning Jo the Recharged Radio Award for Best Single.

She was a triple winner at the awards announced in April this year, also claiming Best Female Artist and Best Album for her debut Gown.

This unique singer/songwriter will be performing a one off gig in London on June 30th at the Betsey Trotwood on Farringdon Road, providing the perfect unwind for those working in the City and not to be missed by anyone looking for some very original live music.

On the back of his excellent number one single Nothin’ On You, B.o.B has announced the next single to be released on August 9th will be the equally brilliant Airplanes.

Airplanes is the second track taken from the brilliant album B.o.B. Presents The Adventures of Bobby Ray, which presents a plethora of singles waiting to be released.

Featuring the wonderful vocals of Hayley Williams from indie band Paramore, Airplanes went straight into the US iTunes charts at number two when B.o.B’s album was released earlier this year, only held off the number one position by Nothin’ On You.

The soundtrack album Avatar: Music From The Motion Picture, featuring music composed by James Horner, has been released to coincide with the release of the film in UK cinemas.

Horner, who won an Academy Award for his ‘Titanic’ soundtrack, has composed and conducted the music that accompanies Avatar, which is highlighted by the end title track I See You.

I See You is performed by none other than UK X-Factor winner Leona Lewis and is produced by James Horner and Simon Franglen, the team behind ‘Titanic’ theme song ‘My Heart Will Go On.’
